How We Work

You approve the real thing before we build it

Most technology projects run on hope. You describe what you want, a team imagines it, and you both find out at the end how far apart those two pictures were. We flipped that. Before we write a line of production code, you see and approve the actual thing. That one change is why our projects ship instead of stall, and it holds whether we're building custom software, a store, a website, or an AI tool.

Left: the mockup you approve. Right: the build you ship. Identical.

The flipped process

Design first, quote second, build third

Before production code, we build a detailed, interactive mockup of your software or site. Not a static sketch. Something you can click through, move through, and push on. You see the real screens and the real flow, and you tell us what's wrong while changing it is still cheap. We revise until the mockup is the thing you want.

01

Design

We design your app in detail. Real screens, real flows, real data.

02

React

You click through a working mockup and tell us what's wrong. We change it. No code yet.

03

Quote

We price the build from the mockup you approved. The number holds.

04

Build

We build to the mockup. It's the spec, down to the pixel and the click.

05

Match

What ships matches what you signed off on. You check it against the mockup.

You get exactly what you approved, pixel for pixel and function for function.

Then we quote from the mockup, so the estimate reflects real scope instead of a hopeful number. No surprises at delivery, no "that's not what I pictured." AI is what makes this practical: it lets us produce a convincing interactive mockup fast enough that mocking first is the sane way to work, not a luxury.

AI-accelerated, in practice

AI for speed, senior people for judgment

Anyone can point an AI at a problem. Knowing where it breaks is the hard part, and that is the part experience buys. Our engineers and designers run AI hard and catch its mistakes before they reach your product.

01

Senior people in the loop

We've been building software for decades, so we catch what AI coding agents get wrong before it ever reaches your product.

02

Guardrails we built ourselves

Our own tooling, LocalContext, is purpose-built to catch the specific failure modes these tools fall into, so those mistakes don't become your bugs.

03

Faster, and priced lower

You get the work faster and priced lower, without the bugs that come from letting an AI run unsupervised. That's the difference between a shop that uses AI and one that knows how.

Scoping and project management that keep a build on track

Custom work is where a lot of teams get burned. The budget goes in, and something half-built or unusable comes out. What separates a project that ships from one that stalls is boring discipline, and we have spent 30+ years sharpening ours.

Scoping comes first. The hardest question in any build is how long it will take, because new work always hides unknowns. Our job is to surface those unknowns early and price them in, which is exactly why we mockup and design before we quote. Then a project manager owns the timeline, the requirements, and the steady communication with you, so the engineers can stay heads-down on the work instead of juggling meetings. We borrow what works from several development methodologies rather than swearing by one, involve you early and often, and ship a working core first so you see real progress instead of waiting in the dark.

Honesty, transparency, follow-through

AI makes us fast and affordable. How we treat you is what makes us the team you keep. We tell you when something is a bad idea, when a cheaper path would serve you better, and when a problem is our fault. You see the work as it happens, not a reveal at the end. And we finish what we start, then stay on to support it.

After launch

We don't hand it off and disappear.

Good software and good sites need tending after launch. The same team stays on:

→Managed hosting on our own private network, watched around the clock by AI and by people who know your build.
→Maintenance that keeps everything current as dependencies, browsers, security expectations, and accessibility standards move.
→Ongoing development and design when the thing you launched succeeds and needs to grow.
Start a conversation

One team builds it and keeps it running, so there is nobody to point at when something needs attention.
