Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Developing custom WordPress themes and plugins
• PHP programming from scratch using frameworks such as Laravel and CakePHP
• Writing and debugging SQL
• Coding in JavaScript from scratch as well as using frameworks
• HTML and Advanced CSS (not design, just technical formatting)
• Estimating
• Researching and designing user-centric solutions to project requirements
• Reliably following through on all assignments

The ideal candidate:
• Is able to quickly understand project requirements and make recommendations for improvement
• Considers many possible usage scenarios and chooses the best combination of an efficient programming solution and a user-friendly one
• Codes reliably with few mistakes
• Foresees ways that code could break and takes preventative steps
• Is organized and able to stay focused on priorities
• Is a good communicator & listener
• Is able to create relatively accurate estimates for tasks and projects
• Is internally motivated, a self starter, able to operate independently, and is also a good team player
• Is passionate about digital technology, is familiar with varied software, tools, and frameworks and enjoys learning
• Takes and gives feedback well
• Initiates new processes and procedures for greater company and team efficiency
• Follows instructions closely and is consistent with follow-through in ongoing projects on their own

Helpful but not required:
• Experience with other development languages/frameworks such as RoR or .Net.
• DevOps expertise
• Team leadership

Additional Job Details:
• compensation: $50-$60/hr DOE
• employment type: contract
• Full-time work-from-home
• US or Canada based developers only – requires full-time overlap with business hours, Pacific time zone
